I just got some 0-0-60 and am wondering when I should start applying it. I have about 6 fruit set and haven`t used any fertilizer other than fish emulsion for a little over two weeks. My biggest fruit is about 35 lbs and growing nicely.

To much of this ballance will cause the effect of to much nitrogen. The AGRO-K Natural Products plan calls for slow and easy with 9-8-8 rouoghly from basketball plus six weeks. This is followed with 2-12-12 weekly for aproximately three weeks and no ferts (0-0-0) to finish. They do call for support of other minor sprays through out. This Agro-K program is one of the finest total leaf feeding and treatment programs I have seen. They are on line if you care to read up. Both the field representative and the area representative will be at the Ohio Weekend end of July.
Feeding liquids through the leaves requires very little product by comparrison. It would therefore seem safer and more adjustable throughout the growing time period. It is designed to support and maximise the value of our manures, composts and other patch building efforts. It is not to be considered the total fertilization program.
