For a competion plant I would not recommend it. If it were a field pumpkin it has to be past the 5th leaf stage.

I have been hoping someone would grow a WR using preen because it sure would make all our lives easier. Unfortunately, studies have shown that although preen doesn't kill established plants, it does inhibit root growth and slow mitosis. Sorry.

Luke I was not trying to be a smart ass I use a hoe that way I can use it to check for culls that hiding in the vines

And P.P, I left my weeds to grow last year since it hurts the pumpkin plant root structure when pulled. I don't know if that is right or not, since weeds left in the patch will take up nutrients otherwise available to the kin.
