Anybody put epsom salts in with their pumpkin plants?

I use it with peppers and tomatoes but never thought about it with pumpkins.

I used some last year because my magnesium tested low and grew a nice pumpkin. This year it was still low so I added a little more but I'm worried that if I use too much, it will have a bad effect on the micro-organisms.
