What are most of you doing with the amounts of water lately since the temps have dipped into the 60's daily and 40's at night? Do you still water the same, or cut back to half or every other night? Just curious what the majority do with the watering patterns and habits in September.

rocky still going strong here except for yesterday and today we got .5 inches of rain. first rain in 3 weeks.

I'm with Zappa, moist soil. Have definitely cut back on daily watering. might want to think about plugging your soil heater cables back in if you have them? Good Luck Rock!

with chances this week of possible one inch rains, i am just staying consistent with what i have done all year. i have made adjustments all year based on humidity, temps, wind, uv index, and hours of sunlight. my idea has always been to keep the moisture levels consistant. when there is a chance of heavier rains coming, i increase my watering slowly for the day or 2 prior to avoid a surge all at once. last thing i want at this time of the game is a big push from a big rain event.

that is an interesting concept with the soil heating cables being plugged back in.. Anyone doing that? Would that cause a growth spurt or anything if it was constant 75 now afternot having them plugged in for so long?

My buddy has plugged them back in. The pumpkin seems to have reacted favourably.

So it is milk, meercal grew, what else? Cut every secondary so the plants juices flow straight to the pumpkin and not be wasted on those silly side vines?

I keep an eye on the soil. Usually I will cut down to watering every other day now, it mostly depends on the weather.
