Rybec, A misting head and a Sprinkler are two different things. Of course a Sprinkler head is more watering of the plant. A misting head is for cooling a plant down, however it really doesn't do much for watering. Drip Works has lots of Misting heads and Extreme does as well.

If you have Ewing irrigation in your area they sell two type of misting heads that give good coverage for ag plants. One type is a mini spinnig head. the othe type(i use this) accelerates the water through a jet and has a end cap that delects the water into a 360 degree pattern.Either type can cover a 12 ft diameter area.We have high uv and low huimidity in colorado.I use the misters to cool down the plant and they provide 40-60% of the water to the soil

Drip works also has a set up with 3 parts bard center unit that keeps it from dripping when turned off and the mister. Look for MEAD. Can't rember what pg in the catalog it is. Look under misters. I use misters and overhead sun cloth for cooling in the 95-110 degrees and low humidity- 10 to 15%

More info about Drip Works set up. See catalog pg. 46 for anti drip misters. At the bottom I use the press in tornado mister.

I personally use Rain Bird Misters which can be bought at any home Depot or Lowes. Work good in the southern heat!
