i have access to a cow feed that they call chop.. this is per ton.. contents60# molasses, 25# trace mineals, 25#salt.. the rest ground cornmeal and ground oats.. i know everything is good but just wondering about the salt..what u think? thanks

Salt is palatable for cows - TOXIC to everything else we're after.

Salt helps cows gain water wait.
But I did compost some of the cow feed last yr. MICE and TREE RATS loved it. but once it started composting it was ok. I did use it in my potatoes and didnt notice anything wrong. but it sat for a long time
