Hi, Im in South East Tn. It's pretty hot here from June on. I am running a misting system on a timer 3 minutes every hour during the day. I just got a drip irrigation system going and was wondering, how much and often to run the drip irrigation. I have adjustable drip heads. right now im running about 1/2 a gallon and hour just during the day. Should I up it and run all day and night? or just at night?

rvd, I have read several times...1" per week!!! prbly not a lot of help, unless you are a mathamagician!!! Peace, Wayne PS...prbly a better idea is to stick yer finger in the dirt...if it's moist...stop watering, if it's dry...water some more!? Not meaning to be a SA but every place, and every patch is different! Hope this helps!!!

If your plant covers a 20'x 20' area or 400 square feet. You would need 248.41 gallons of water to equal 1" of rain fall.
It would take 1.23 yards to cover 1" thick, X 27 sq feet in a yard =33.21 cubic feet. X 7.48 gallons in a cubic foot,=248.41 gallons of water.

I live in AL and it's hot here too. I water by drip 1hr at night and 1 hr in the heat of the day, the mid-day seems to help the flagging leaves.
