i know this has been posted before, but just trying to get some extra advice.
i bought some 0-0-50 Sulfate of Potash today, and curious as to when and how much i should i apply.
it say 1/2 to 1 pound per 100 sq ft. and my only plant now is about 120 sq ft in size.
any advice on time of day and how to apply this is appreciated.
i know too much of this stuff can blow it up.

Without a soil test & a recent tissue analysis we have to make an educated guess. The bag rate sounds high. Yet 1 tablespoon is too low.
I would aim for 1.5 lbs per 600 sq ft plant spread very evenly over the entire rooted area including all secondary vine - not just the base.

Jeremy, without sounding mean, you have a very very small plant, if I'm not mistaken, you left a few fruit on the plant until recently. Using 0-0-50 on a plant this small is kind of like putting rocket fuel in a moped and hoping it runs like a F16. Next year grow a bigger plant to sustain and push the fruit, leave only one fruit and you will have better results.

yes bohica, this is a very very very small plant. the last fruit to get culled from this plant was over a month ago on July 26th.
but if growth has basically slowed down close to nothing, i need to do something to try to put more pounds on her, right?

I appologize if I came across the wrong way. Be careful Jeremy you can pop these bad boys open wide with too much Potash.

no reason for u to apologize.
what i am saying is if i fruit has basically slowed down to just about no growth.
will fertilizing with potash do anything?
i sprinkled some around the base and near some secondaries, probably just a waste, right?
all the leaves have PM and r dieing.

Staying on the same topic, Can potash be disolved and applied in a hose end sprayer like Miracle Grow's sprayer? If so would this make even coverage of the plant easier? Thanks Tim.

If you leaves have pm and growth is close to nothing then this is the end of your plant. If you decide to use potash next season, then spread it before the growth goes down. Feed your pumpkin before it gets hungry.

0-0-50 is water soluble yet. It will go through a hose end sprayer.

Be careful spraying poyash on the leaves. I have not done this but did get some granules over many leaves when I broadcasted it around the patch and it burned holes right through the leaves in no time. In a dilluted form I would think that the leaves will not burn but just a word of caution.
