How many people position their soaker hoses first thing in the spring and bury them in place? Any opinions good or bad about burying the soaker hose or leaving it on top of ground? I saw a post in a older diary where someone positioned the soaker hose in a spiral pattern starting at the stump and circling outward and then buried 3" or 4" under the soil. Any and all suggestions would be highly appreciated Thanks Bumkin

I usually run the soaker hose so that it follow the first side vine on one side from the tip to the stump and then turn it to follow the length of the main vine all the way out leaving it on top of the ground with the side vines buried under it. I know this is probably not the best way to do it but seems to work fine for me.

i put mine around the stump about 2-3 feet away. 1-2 loops, then make a "s" patteren the rest of the way down the patch trying to make the side vines grow near the hoses.. i had gravity feed last year and was able to leave hoses on mostly all the time, only draining around 100 gallons a day.

Zander, what kind of name is that? Isn't that a species of European fish?
