I am wondering if anyone has cut up a drip hose and put it back together in the shape of a christmas tree pattern to mimic how the plant grows. In theory this seems like it would work by providing water where it is needed most, which is along the main and secondaries. Any thoughts?

I did just that last year. In my opinion... it placed water too close to the vines and not further out where some of the roots were. I think even watering is better.

LP, when attaching the end caps to the end of the hose, did you use PVC cement or silicone sealer or something else? How many side hoses did you have that connected to the main hose? How far apart did you have the secondary hoses spaced and last but not least, what was the total length of main hose? Thanks for your answers.
