I have a homemade compost pile of ground up leaves and coffee grounds. First time for me to try my own compost. It's been turned several times, heated to 145 to 160 degrees for about 2 weeks and has been sitting about 6 weeks more. It look great, black and crumbly BUT there is white powder looking stuff over most of the leafs bits that remain and the compost in general. Anybody know what this is and if it's harmful to the plants and a seedling. I dont want to pass a mildew or some disease along that will kill my plants! How do I get rid of the white stuff or innoculate my pile?

Worms.....they eat the critters that are eatin the mold....

If it's a mold, i would turn it back into the pile. That should take care of it, as it can only grow on the surface.
