Go to the site of DIRT WORKS, a Vermont based business. Many, of the organic product truths are clearly and in simple terms explained.

This site has a very interesting content dealing with a growning biological identification and commercial use, of the little known field, of Nematoads. Known and commonly used Nematoads now number thirty some that are named, of the unknown thousands yet to be discovered and named.

There is a pumpkin patch application, for those who would make the personal effort, to learn the basics, of an exciting "not new" field. Study, of beneficial nematoad use was well under way long before harsh chemicals were even dreamed of.

Before we get busy outside go here and read some good stuff!

Wiz, You could get a start by going to Google. I have seen but do not remember local sites to you. The basic organic supply sites seem to be in the Northeast and the Northwest. This fact is because those are the areas of larger use of the products. That having been said you still need only one bag of three or four items to have a pretty good handle on the basic needs.

I know you have horse stables and the elements of good compost literally in sight of your location. Break it down to basics of soil building to relieve the importance of purchased items. I think I understand your urges to better your patch and management. You have a pretty good handle on the process. I know you can do it very well with less purchased. See animals think poop and you are in heaven. :)
