How deep to bury the soaker hose I am going to use? My concern is the secondary rooting will not sense the water if the hose it too deep. However if the hose is too close to the surface, then it is difficult to do vine burying as the hose gets in the way.

What do you suggest?

I put mine about 3-4" under. I don't make trenches to bury my vines either, but I do cover my vines with a mixture of compost & mushroon compost. Hope this helps.

My soaker hoses are on the surface of the soil! The vines often lay right on top of the hose....never had any problems.
