If I apply a pound of 21-0-0 to my soil (dry granular)

and then apply a pound of 0-45-0 to my soil (dry granular)

and then apply a pound of 0-0-60 to my soil (dry granular)

What exactly have I done to my soil? Has it received 21 N, 45 P, and 60 K, or has it received 7-15-20?

I would say it has received three pounds of 7-15-20.. or one pound of each 21-0-0, 0-45-0, and 0-0-60 same deal. But this is only my opinion.. i would recommend a second.

It has received .21 lbs N,.45 lbs P,.60lb K....If you add 100lbs of 21-0-0 you get 21 lbs N...You have added 3 lbs of 7-15-20

David, add the three just like it was adding money. then divide the sum by 3. you will get 7-15-20. 21+0+0= 21 so divided 21 by 3=7, 0+0+45 divided by 3=15, 0+0+60 =60 divided by 3= 20. so you got 7-15-20.

7-15-20 percent.divide by 100(0.07-0.15-0.20)
this gives you the amount of plant food in each pound of fertiliser.Multiply that by 3(3lbs)and that is where the
0.21,0.45,0.60 that pumpkinpicker is talking about comes from.
If you put 1lb per sq.yd of 7-15-20 that is equal to
338.8lbs N,726lbs P,968lbs K per Acre.
For example K,
0.20 which is the plant food you are putting on 1sq.yd
X 4840 which is the number of sq. yds in an acre
=968lbs acre K.

Hmmmm....well not EXACTLY....hee-hee.....if you REALLY wanna get TECHNICAL, the middle number is for the oxide form of Phosphorous(P2O5) and the third number is for the oxide form of Potassium(K2O)....so 15lbs of phosphoric acid is really only 6.6lbs of P...and 20 lbs of K2) is only 16.6lbs of K.....lol.....just when you thought you had it all figured out huh?....lol
ps...N is the only one of the three listed in element form, so 20lbs of N is 20 lbs..........G
