I understand what seaweed extract can do being full of micros and enzymes, but what about fish? Is there something in it that makes it so special? Seems like everyone has used it but I cannot find specific points that is does "this or that so you BETTER use it".
Please enlighten me.

Ben Ben Ben haven't you ever heard the old tale about how the Indians put a couple herring under everyplant. :)

It really sinks ... and the smell sticks to your cloths and shoes ... so you have to change after applying it ! ...so what could be better than that? :)

The most desirable aspect of fish emulsion is the Nitrogen it delivers with very little chance of burning. Other than that, it can't hold a candle to the auxin/hormone/potash rich sea-kelp extracts.

I believe it has some desireable amino acids in it...

Plants make their own amino acids. Some plant roots exude amino acids into their own soil & it is suspected that beneficial bacteria respond favorably to this condition. But it is usually the plant that regulates this & not the other way around.
I hate to say this but I will. Many of the marketing claims on these products are shades of the tail wagging the dog.
Example: I know a "fertilizer company" that is owned by their own former freight provider. This trucking company hauled Orange Juice & as a valued trade partner to the growers was looking for ways of disposing of the juice byproducts. Long story short, certain organic fertilizers & stimulants from this concern now claim amino acids (that are of no use to growing plants or soils) derived from (you guessed it!) Orange Peels! LOL. Good back haul if you can get it.

LOL @ Steve, Ever hear the one about the orange juice tankers hauling OJ up north then hauling out of a chemical plant for a back load in the same trailer? True story. At the time, it was totally legal too. Anybody thirsty??...lol

Yep...And now they backhaul organic fertilizer. And that IS legal.

It's major benefit is it feeds soil microbes like few others. And microbes are what breaks everything down into the most plant usable forms,
