Hey, not squash related, but what part of Alabama are you from? It seems like hardly anyone here is in AL and I just wondered what other people are doing for SVB’s, combatting the heat, etc.

North AL, what about you? We tent Our plants so it keeps most of the bugs out. I have been planting early to to try and beat the heat. My biggest is only 635lb though.

I’m in the same area. I grow in the Limestone County region and just came back this past year and grew a 240 pounder but I’m amending my soil and using shade netting this year along with a few other tweaks to try to get closer to the state record.
