Go to Elk Grove forum on March 4. There are always some good Orange seeds available on the seed table for not much $$.
Otherwise find a Carter 1912. Not the biggest Orange one out there, but a solid contender for sure.

Kevin, do you think an AG seed from 1912 would still germinate, that's over 100 years old? Oh...1912 Carter, now I get it!!! LOL Peace, Wayne

KC...sorta behind in what's what? So, what is the heaviest true ORANGE? That will replicate that true Orange trait & carry on Heavy traits? Would certainly like to find one! Peace, Wayne

Wayne,
There were a few good looking Orange ones grown last year off the 1912 Carter. Two years ago, Mark's 1947 Clementz sure a nice Orange but I haven't followed the offspring.
That said, Shannon can answer this better than I can. He's one of several growers that have worked hard to preserve the Orange Genetics. He sells his seeds (see the link above) for a very fair price.

In this region(upper midwest), when orange pumpkins are mentioned, I think of Shannon(Linus Van Pelt).
