I Get a good sterilized seed starter, add water so you can form a ball in your hand but if you squeeze it water will not drip (don't want it to wet). I file the seed edges with sand paper so they break apart easier. Point down in the soil not to deep and cover. A cheap and easy way is to put in the oven with the light on that should keep it warm enough, just put a note on oven to not preheat it while seeds are in there lol, my fiancé has cooked a lot of my practice seeds lol Some growers build germ chambers that work well also, Or at garden centers they sell seed starter heat mats that are pretty good price. Also you can get a inside/outside digital temp meter at walmart for 10 bucks so you know what your temp is at all times. I have also used a digital meat thermometer to test soil temp also very inexpensive. Another way is the baggie method, soak your seed in a 10:1 water peroxide mix if you wish then dampen a paper towel put seed in paper towel and seal in a ziplock baggie also keep warm then you can see if your seed germs then place in seeds starter. I think Matt D has a video of this on youtube very good stuff. There is many other ways just figured I throw you a few ideas hope this helps !

I have tried every way under the sun and what give me 100 percent germination is file seed edges, soak and hour in wet paper towel, put seed point down in any good potting soil.I then moisten soil till damp.I then a day 3 dig down until I see seed top and every day until it come up,I moisten seed with water from spray bottle.I do not use any external heat what so ever and have gotten 100 percent germination for the last 2 years.

Its all about incubating seeds at 80 to 85 degrees. So you have to start them indoors. I use a medium size cooler with a 15 watt refrigerator bulb. Well wrung out potting soil. get some practice ag seeds from ebay.Youve got 2.5 months to practice.People here are good about donating seeds but prob. dont want you wasting them for practice.Search the seed starting section for more advice on getting them to germ. They sprout easy with correct temp and moisture.

I have a few, fogsurfer313@yahoo.com practice makes perfect! They are orange genetics, a few years old but should work fine. Some seeds take longer, you need light directly on it, in a warm place.

Browny If you send me a bubble I will send you a bunch of practice seeds from my 361 Donahue (1623.5 Wallace x self)
I use an ice chest with a growing mat in the bottom wrapped in a towel. I check the temp before putting the seeds in in a damp paper towel. I have also had great luck in sterile seed starter on a germination mat.

this is what I've come up with...file seeds ,soak in water water 24 hrs...then wet paper towel in zip lock(75 should be warm enough)...should sprout within 48 hrs...gently plant in dirt...

I have actually removed the seed coat in the past and used the paper towel method in a baggie. It still germinated fine at 80 deg. I wouldn't recommend it though. It's too easy to go too far.

Do not plant in dirt. Use a starting mix. get the temp right (about 85 degrees) get the moisture right (not too wet) Soak the seed for a couple hours
do these and you should have really good success rates.
I use to plant the seeds point down and I had a problem with the seedlings coming up with the seed coats still intact. I started planting them flat and the seed coat almost always works its way off before the plant is out of the ground.

Step one, you already did by asking now rather than April!
Get the sterile starter at Lowes and go from there. Do the search on filing as suggested above, and it will look like a sandwich when filed down from the side view. Practice now over and over. Good luck
