Ask Peter Burdon in Goodwood Ontario for seed of his selfed 1813, which grew 11% heavy: 1335 Burdon 14 DMG

Might want to take a look at that above suggestion,Steve.Pics, info,in Peter's diary.I'm growing a selfed 1024(reverse cross of 1813) in 2015.The 1335 was a strong grower into Sept.Nice to have an original seed but good things come from selfs sometimes.

Mike, for true hybrids you need two inbred parents. I think you should make two hybrids with the Strange fruit x 1335 and in reverse. As a plant breeder I do not like to grow best to best. And so I only wanted to inbreed the 1385.5 Jutras 07, because all the 1385 offspring could not satisfy me. Now I have my inbred 1385 with hundreds of best seed from the fruit 612 Ammer 14, which of course is no GPC-fruit, ´cause I dont take the GPC seriously. I would like to produce giant hybrids with the 511 Strange and my 612. But I mainly grow edibles, and so I do not have space for the 1335. Maybe the 511 and the 1335 are too close related to get a real hybrid, but maybe not. Please show us this experiment. I only want to get a better pollinator to enlarge my edible pumpkins and squash in the Stellpflug-style.

A 511 x 1335 would be a kind of sibbed cross from two selfed seeds.I don t have fruit luck on similar two generation selfed seeds although the plants are beasts.I would consider a 511 x 612 though.

Now, as you talk about the 1335 again... Why not?! I have to get more space, much more space to grow in 2015! No, your are right! No 1335! Will you do the 511 x 612? And I will do the 391 Otnes 13 (stretto but not selfed 1723 Marshall 11, which is a selfed 1634 Werner 10) x 511/14 in reverse, because that´s the fusion flashing with the 1634 Werner 10 grandmothers of your 511. Mike, you might do the 486.2 Otnes 14 (391 x 2032 Mathison) with your 511 in reverse. I only want to self the 486.2 and use it as pollinator for edibles.

The 391 must be a good seed to increase a PB by 30%.Ludvig,email me instead,as we took over Steve's post. Hope you get that 1813 Steve! But you won't be disappointed with the reverse cross, maybe an easier find.

...Sorry I'm still takin space Steve,(obsessive trait but grower friendly).Dawn Northrup told me the reverse cross, 1024 producing plant had stump issues that really hurt fruit growth.
