Listen to Andy...Trust me plant that seed ASAP. Its a good seed you can't beat the genetics of the 1161 and 1068 I grew the 1596 last season and it grew me a 700 lbs fruit. I payed hardly any attention to it like I should have and it continued to grow until it was harvested. Deep ridges and bumppy. plant that seed

Ive said it once and ill say it again.....that seed will be sought after by everyone in the future. People who dont see that are just ignorant as to what that seed will do. I spent all my time on one plant and neglected the 1596 it still grew a huge pumpkin.

Everybody has their own opinions on what various seeds are capable of. Just because they disagree doesn't justify calling them "ignorant". That's sort of uncalled for.

There are a number of seeds that are capable. 1. Genetics
2. Weather (big factor) 3. grower (big factor) 4. Soil conditions (extreme factor). Conclusion, you gotta have all of them. Its like the world series or super bowl everything has to click at the right or same time.

My brother grew the 1596 and the pumpkin went 166lbs over the estimated weight.

Julian. perhaps I may have seemed quite harsh to you. I said people are ignorant as to what the seed can do. That was not made to be little anyone. Just like I am ignorant as to what other seeds are capable of because of several factors...Like I haven't planted it, or seen an offspring from a particular. That was not intended to offend.....
