Giant potatoes can be made bigger by Seaweed. I applied some to my purple fingerlings and they were quite impressive. but they started out as ordinary purple fingerling.
I like russets, have gotten some yukons that were size of softballs.
shepody is ok
My faorite variety to get big is Atlantic. had some big ones in the past.( over 3 plus pounds) but no one cared about its size just wanted to know how big of steak to get. lol ok to eat.

I did both, but foliar spray may have been better.
I added a bunch of coffee grounds to the mound as well.
I even added stuff collected from the vacuum. dont know why i just did it.lol
I like growing yukons, I did get some nice big ones. but dont let em get sunburned(the tubbers that is) I will be growing em next yr.

hahaha newman. it was just one of my experiments. sounds dumb until I relized that what is in the stuff a vacume sucks up is what. Go dump your vacume out and see.
It has hair dust and lots of other stuff. took a while too break it down. But it worked.

What is the record for a potato??
Personaly the biggest spuds I've seen came from either a Russet Burbank or Kennebecs. The nice thing about Kennebecs is they are a very dense, high moisture potato so compared to others they should weigh heavy.
