I dug the wood chips away to feel underneath and then packed them back in place so that it holds its shape. The bottom is concave up already and the blossom nub is not at any risk. It all felt as it should, except knocking the underside it does feel very thin, which is disappointing. Ironically, its possible that blossom puts the least amount of strain or force on the blossom end, and any forces are even & concentric, so hopefully the thin bottom doesnt doom it. Most of the force and strain will get put into the sides, and top?
Anyhow, the plant isnt strong and squash will probably top out at just 15 lbs per day... A bit less than my goal of 70 lbs per day. A bit of a humbling year here, too!
