Planted some volunteer leeks, hot peppers and basil. Keeping an eye on the cover crop. I have never planted a tobasco pepper, so this will be an interesting experience. The hot peppers were all root bound in pots, so I broke off 1/2 inch of their root balls and cut all fruits and blossoms off before planting. I dug deep holes, filled holes with 1/2 gallon water and some bone meal. The leeks were completely root bound, so I cut apart the roots, dug deep holes and applied WOW Wallace starter packs. Basil was all in bloom, but that doesn't matter. I cut their roots too and reduce the plant height to half then planted. I freeze a ton of basil for the winter in ice cube trays, so this will definitely help feed the masses in my house!
