At the end of day 1, post planting, I checked the soil temp and EC readings.
Soil temperature = 63 Fahrenheit at 7 p.m.
EC reading = Range of 0.56 to 0.37 within 12 inches of the plant in all directions
Outside temps hit 82 Fahrenheit in my backyard today. To help protect the pumpkin I rigged up a makeshift concoction of lawn chairs, plywood, and concrete edging blocks to help reduce stress on the pumpkin as it hardens of with wind and shade protection.
