Hi all, totally new to the big pumpkin game but giving it a go down here in Rixeyville Virginia. Started 7 seeds on 4/10, had 1 rot. ended up with 2 each 2184.00 Marintzer 2023, 2144.5 Rodebaugh 2023 & 1755.00 Rodebaugh 2024. They popped up quick and I had a blanket over the germinator with no lights on so all but one Marintzer got a touch leggy off the start.
I'm growing these with my cousin at his farm and we just chose 2 spots with lot's of organic matter, garden/bonfire area and old pig pen plowed them deep, laid heating cable and put up 2 7x12 tents with thermostatic windows, heaters and fans.
One plant went in 5/3 and the second 5/4. All the back ups are still hanging out in there with them.... probably a dumb idea.
