Plant 1st set in opposite directions, 2nd set side by side 1st set and if lose any of those have the 3rd set going. The 2 vines that finally make it usually come from the 2nd or 3 sets. First set commonly freezes, kinks, gets stepped on, splits the main - they never make it.
