I had cut back a different 9.06 Brown plant down to a 4" stub. This particular plant produced one of those wonky deformed Van Gogh fruits with the baked in leaves. See my Aug 6 diary entry, right photo. Note, the upper trusses only pushed out disappointing singles.
Anyway, I guess the "plant" wasn't ready to give up and it forced out a new growth tip about one inch up from the soil line. For kicks, I let it grow to see what would come of the first truss. The pic below shows another unusual bloom from that stub plant. It's quite oblong and starting to thicken. Haven't seen a bloom quite like this before. I'll try to pollinate it to see what the fruit looks like.
