Dehumidifier Fail…
While every experiment does not end in success this is one of those cases. As the temperature starts to decrease in the evening the ability for the water to hold air decreases so the level of humidity increases. Seeing this noticeable pattern when it is hard to keep the humidity high enough (on certain days) and then not being able to keep the humidity low enough during the evening, night and morning time frame a dehumidifier was added to the hoop-house.
The goal was to keep the level at 80% and despite being sized for the square footage, the moisture these plants can produce was simply too much for the unit to keep-up. There is nothing wrong with the dehumidifier itself, but it was just not sized appropriately and apparently the correct size would have been too large to run so despite many attempts to make it work it was ultimately removed from the growing environment.
