Nutriculture K-Mag 15-5-30 (plus trace elements)
Suggested Rates: *Assuming the starting water is…70ppm (on the 700 scale) or 0.1 EC and has a pH of 6.8 Add 1/3 to ½ cup of Nutricultuire K-Mag and 1 TBS Solubor Boron to 132 gallons of water to create a 380ppm or 0.6 EC and pH = 7.1
The reason for the range of 1/3 to ½ is that this fertilizer has a tendency to absorb a little water from the air and form into a solid block. So, take a ½ cup measuring cup and put some pieces of fertilizer into it and when it reaches the top with some air pockets due to the large chunks, you are good to go.
The Solubor serves two purposes, the first and obvious one is to add some boron. This is not much but typically in the past soil and tissue tests have shown low levels so this small addition does seem to help keep Boron levels in the target range. However, the second reason for the addition is to help increase the pH of the otherwise acidic conditions of the K-Mag fertilizer. Solubore alone has a pH of 8.5 so by adding it there is more Boron in the mix, and the pH is adjusted to near neutral so it is a great double benefit.
