I do want to "do everything right" in one spot next year, including soil tests! ....It will be a yearlong process. Corn & hvy mulch this summer... Maybe oats in the fall & ryegrass in the spring. Dry weather this spring has hastened the demise of my soil, this year??? Well its wet again now. Back in business maybe.
