My 1213 '13 is coming up. If you plant the seed laying flat on it's side, it usually comes up without the seed coat. I never file, sand or soak. If it won't grow the way nature intended it won't make it in my patch. Watermelons always need a midwife to give a little help removing the seed coat. One day I'll figure how to sprout those. Oh, my 224 Glasgow melon sprouted as well. That's the one that is intended for the patch.
