It seemed the sensible thing to do was to take the year off. But since when is a giant pumpkin grower sensible??!! So while some of you have early starts and technical data to try to get ahead of Mother Nature, I will be staying with basics and working WITH her to see what I can do!   Monday, May 13 View Page Of course, I'm going for round and orange, with 1885.5 Werner genetics.......with names of Rea, Wolf, Kisamore & Swain. The goal is to maintain healthy plants - grow some beautiful pumpkins - and have some fun!!   Sunday, September 15 View Page This year - not growing for competition, but for nice sized, beautiful pumpkins, to be used for commercial display - I grew 10 pumpkins. Here is Papa Rea on his old Ford tractor.
