I'm back! After several years off, I'm trying to beat my record. Tried growing something the last few years, but animals ate up everything that I put in the ground. Thus the cage around the seedling this year. I'm hoping to keep critters and PM away enough this year to actually get something like back in 2018 (see next picture).

What my pumpkin was like the last year I was able to keep the squirrels and PM at bay.

In the ground about four weeks. The cage is working so far, but the pumpkin will outgrow it soon.

This is my backup plant. It was doing great until yesterday when I noticed the leaves chewed up. Some damage on the inside of the leaf, like in the pic, and some along the edges. Considering the caged plant about 20 feet away has almost no damage, I think this is from squirrels or birds. Still, I put down more Sluggo and sprayed all leaves with pepper oil. I've been battling critters for years now, I don't know what changed because a decade ago I never had to worry about leaves disappearing like this.
