Wow was this a difficult decision but these are my planned seeds for 2024. Last year I had hoped for a 2000lb pumpkin and a jacket but things did not work out as planned so this year is going to be the year. I did earn my growers jacket last year and plan to add a couple of patches to it this fall. Next week is my planned start date so it’s time to get some work done in the patch. Wish everyone a PB this year

Wow I finally have a cool jacket to wear at the weigh offs. I’m waiting until Wednesday to start my seeds but it is going to be the longest three days ever. lol

Today it was 70 degrees out and decided to do a little patch work. One patch got a 24 foot heating cable and this one was 80 foot. Still have one more to do but it can wait a day or two.

Of course I changed my lineup. Ugh. Also added a few of my 1594 to the mix

I decided to only soak my seeds for 1 hour and did not file the light colored seeds. 100 % germination but the 2262 stelts only came up with one leaf.

I decided to do something different (maybe even stupid) and set two additional pumpkins on my 2465 Sperry for additional crosses since it is a great plant. This one is a 2222 Gienger cross at about 27 dap and it hasn’t slowed the big one down at all. Last week the temperature was 90 degrees with over an inch of rain, so maybe it even saved it from popping.

The 2465 Sperry is still growing and getting a little more color.

This is my 2222 Gienger X 2560 Gienger that I pulled the plant because of two huge splits in the main vine(both were my fault). I do have another pumpkin currently on there that is crossed with my Sperry

My 2342 Stelts that replaced the 2222 was approximately two weeks behind the others when main vine broke right before pollination. Apparently I just wasn’t supposed to grow a big pumpkin in that spot this year but at least she is pretty.

I really wanted seeds from this on my 2465 but she only made it to dap 32

Hopefully I measured this wrong 10 days ago because it did not grow at all this week.

The 2465 is still growing but very slowly this past week.
